HAIR CARE GUIDE
Hey Fab Dolls,
One of the most important things about hair extensions is that you have to be VERY Gentle. When you are brushing or combing your hair, please take you time. Without the proper treatment, your hair extensions will get damaged quickly. Here are some essential tips for taking care of your hair extensions:
WAVY AND STRAIGHT HAIR CARE
Co-washing, or conditioner-only washing, is an excellent method to maintain the health and appearance of your extensions. This gentle approach helps keep your extensions soft and manageable while ensuring they remain tangle-free. Here’s how you can co-wash your straight hair extensions effectively:
Preparing Your Extensions
-
Section Your Hair:
- Divide your hair into manageable sections using Alligator clips. This helps to ensure even application of the conditioner and prevents tangling.
-
Wet Your Hair:
- Use cool water to thoroughly wet each section of your hair. This will help the conditioner spread more easily and effectively.
Applying the Conditioner
-
Apply Conditioner:
- Choose a moisturizing conditioner and apply a generous amount to each section. Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to distribute the conditioner evenly from the mid-lengths to the ends of the extensions.
-
Deep Condition:
- Leave the conditioner to sit on your hair for 15-30 minutes. This allows the hair to absorb the moisture and nutrients, keeping it soft and supple.
Rinsing and Detangling
-
Rinse:
- Rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water. Cool water helps seal the cuticles, locking in moisture and enhancing the shine of your extensions.
-
Detangle:
- While rinsing, gently detangle your hair using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. Start from the ends and work your way up to prevent breakage.
Drying and Styling
-
Remove Excess Water:
- Gently squeeze out excess water using a cotton cloth. Avoid rubbing the hair, as this can cause frizz and tangling.
-
Air Dry:
- Allow your extensions to air dry naturally. If necessary, use a blow dryer on a low heat setting to speed up the process. Always use a heat protectant if applying any heat.
-
Style as Desired:
- Once dry, style your straight hair extensions as usual. Avoid excessive heat styling to maintain their integrity and longevity.
By following these steps, your hair extensions will remain sleek, smooth, and in pristine condition. Regular co-washing will ensure your remains soft and manageable.

CURLY HAIR CARE
CURLY HAIR REQUIRES TIME AND PATIENCE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO CARE THIS HAIR. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING IT. CHOOSE BODY WAVE OR STRAIGHT.
For curly hair extensions, it is highly recommended to Condition (Co-Wash) at least 3 times per week. This step is vital and essential for maintaining soft and manageable hair.
Curly Hair Care Routine
- Prepare Your Hair: Before getting your hair wet, divide it into 4 sections and secure them with hair clips. This will simplify the process, especially for curly textures.
- Wet Your Hair: Thoroughly wet all sections while keeping them separated to avoid tangling.
- Apply Conditioner: Work through each section with your conditioner, using a Denman brush. Start detangling from the ends and work your way up. Detangling is much easier when done in sections.
- Deep Condition: Allow the conditioner to sit for 15-30 minutes for deep conditioning.
- Rinse: Rinse your hair with cool water.
Now that the Co-Wash process is complete, let's begin Curl Definition!
Step-by-Step Guide for Defining Your Curls
- Section Your Hair: Divide your hair into 3 to 4 parts and thoroughly detangle using a Denman brush. It's essential to ensure that all curls are completely brushed out; being careless at this stage can lead to problems later on.
- Prepare the Spray: Mix 2/3 water and 1/3 conditioner in a spray bottle. Spray each section generously, ensuring they are fully saturated.
- Add Moisture: Apply a light sealant cream to help retain moisture. Use your detangle brush on each section where the product is applied. As you brush, you’ll notice the coils beginning to form. If you followed step 1 diligently, there should be no friction here.
- Scrunch to Form Curls: After washing, use a cotton cloth to scrunch each section. This step helps establish the coil shape and prevents excess water from dripping.
- Drying Your Curls: While still sectioned, use a blow dryer with a diffuse attachment to dry your hair until it's at least 60% dry. The diffuser helps minimize frizz and keeps curls intact; however, air-drying is also an option. While your curls dry, refrain from touching or running your fingers through your hair.
- Refresh when Needed: Until your next co-wash, use the water/conditioner mix spray to refresh your curls.
Night-time Hair Curls Care
Before heading to bed, braid it into large sections or pull it in a high ponytail, then cover with bonnet. This will help preserve your curl pattern and minimize frizz while you sleep.
Morning After Curls Care
When you're ready to style your hair in the morning, simply remove the style. Mist your hair with a mixture of water and conditioner to reactivate your leave-in product. Divide your hair into sections and brush from the tips, working your way up toward the roots. Gently scrunch your hair and let it air dry. Avoid over-manipulation, as it may result in unwanted frizz.
Protection from Sun and Water
-
Sun Protection:
- Prolonged sun exposure can fade and dry out your extensions. Wear a hat or scarf when you're outside for extended periods to protect them from UV rays.
-
Chlorine and Saltwater:
- Before swimming, wet your extensions with cool clean water and apply a leave-in conditioner. This helps minimize chlorine and salt water absorption. After swimming, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and condition.
Always apply a heat protectant when using heat styling tools to prevent damage. Regular heat styling can change your natural curl pattern and affect hair health, similar to its impact on natural hair.
PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS
We recommend hydrating conditioners to maintain the moisture required for curly textures.
- Tresemme Moisture Rich Conditioner
- Tresemme Flawless Curls Conditioner (Curly Hair Textures)
- Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls (SoftKinks and heavily textured curls)
- Detangle Brush (Denman Brush )
Warning- Please do not use the curly hair care method on Body Wave, Indian Wavy/ Straight, Fiji Straight textures. You cannot spray these textures with conditioner and water daily. This will damage the hair to no return.
Fiji Hair texture must not be bleached passed #27 as this can severely damage the hair. This hair has been processed for texture. Do not attempt to bleach pass #27.
HEAT
When Applying Heat please use heat protectant to protect your hair. Straightening your hair on Extreme high heat can cause unrepairable damages. We would highly recommend an ionic dryer, as they wont damage the hair. Also, use good quality straightening irons and curling rods. We recommend air drying your hair extensions.
Swimming & Exercise Wash the hair immediately after swimming! When dirt and sweat accumulates, hair mattes, tangles, and becomes unmanageable.
Be sure to always wear a swim cap, if possible. Carefully comb out any tangles that may be present starting from the bottom and working your way up.
Once the hair has been detangled braid the hair in two braids to ensure that all of the hair is protected and tucked neatly under the cap. Following your dip, be sure to CO-WASH your hair immediately to remove any damaging chemical that may have snuck under your cap.
NEVER SLEEP ON WET HAIR.
Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. It is also recommended to wrap your hair together or gently tie it up to prevent tangling.
Handle With Care Before washing a lace closure/frontal gently remove hair knots and tangles with your fingers. Then, gently brush through the lace product hair with a soft bristle brush or comb it through with a wide tooth comb. Avoid yanking or pulling on your lace products, as this may cause hair to fall out or cause hair strands to become loose.
LACE CARE
Lace Wigs or lace products lifespan depends on how we care them.
Our Lace Products can be Co-Washed using our Argan Oil Conditioner. However, be very gentle when washing due to this product being VERY delicate.
Bleaching the knots incorrectly will cause lace balding/ Shedding. To Minimize Shedding please seal the knots with a holding Spray.
Lace products require maintenance. We are not responsible for lace balding due to incorrect bleaching and poor maintenance. We will not exchange or refund wigs, closures or frontals due to incorrect care that causes shedding or balding.
Please note: Lace products will last 1-3 Installs with proper maintenance.
CLIP-IN EXTENSIONS CARE
Gentle Brush out any tangles from your Clip-ins. Take a wide-tooth comb or detangle brush and work your way through your extension. Start brushing about 3 to 4 in (7.6 to 10.2 cm) from the bottom of the extensions to get the tangles out, then work your way up. Detangle throughly until there are no more tangles.
- Never wash tangled extensions. Always detangle first.
Massage a pea-sized amount of conditioner into each extension and let it sit. Use a hydrating conditioner, and only apply the conditioner from the mid-shaft to the ends, not the roots. Let the conditioner soak in for at least 1 hour. If you want to go the extra mile, treat your extensions with an overnight conditioner instead.
- When conditioning a weft overnight, tie the base with a hair tie, then twist the extension and secure it in a shower cap.
- Conditioner helps ensure that your hair is really silky and soft.
Rinse out any leftover conditioner with cool water. Turn your tap onto a cool setting, then place your conditioned wefts beneath the tap. Rub away any remaining product with your fingers.
Drench the extensions with cold water to seal in the effects of the conditioner. Switch water to cold setting and continue to rinse your clip-ins. Rinse off all of the hair that you’ve just conditioned, which will help the conditioner soak into your hair.
Put your Clip-ins to air-dry on a clean towel. Place a clean towel on a sturdy surface, then spread out your wefts overtop. Check that your wefts are as flat as possible, and that none are stacking on top of one another. Lightly comb through the extensions with your fingers to get rid of any leftover tangles.
NEVER BRUSH CLIP-INS EXTENSIONS HARD. BE GENTLE
TAPE-IN EXTENSIONS CARE
Tape-in hair extensions are a great way to add length and volume to your hair without having to commit to more permanent methods like sew-in or bonded extensions. However, it's important to take proper care of your tape-in extensions to keep them looking and feeling great for as long as possible.
- Be gentle when brushing or styling your hair. Avoid pulling or tugging on the extensions.
- CO-WASH hair with conditioner
- Avoid using hot tools like curling irons or straighteners directly on the tape adhesive, as this can melt the glue and cause the extensions to come loose.
- Sleep with your hair in a loose braid or ponytail to prevent tangling and pulling on the extensions.
- Avoid swimming, saunas, or steam rooms, as excessive moisture can weaken the tape adhesive and cause the extensions to slip or fall out.
By following these simple tips, you can keep your tape-in extensions looking beautiful and natural for up to 6 weeks before needing to be re-taped or re-applied.
